CoolSculpting (Fat Freezing) in Boca Raton, FL

BEST COOL SCULPTING IN BOCA RATON, FL

When it comes to getting rid of excess weight, most of us have heard of the many available solutions that can help “melt” away unwanted body fat. Common fat-burning methods include exercise, customized diets, waist trimmers, and more. But sometimes, even with diet, exercise, and other approved weight loss methods, certain areas of body fat may require additional therapy. Here at the Rendon Center, for patients with troublesome areas of body fat who are unable to find complete success through diet and exercise, we offer an innovative fat loss therapy known as CoolSculpting to help “freeze” away stubborn body fat.

What is CoolSculpting®?

CoolSculpting is an FDA-cleared, award-winning body-sculpting treatment therapy that utilizes controlled cooling to target and destroy fat cells while leaving the skin surface and other bodily structures unharmed. CoolSculpting therapy is safe, noninvasive, and virtually painless, requiring no surgical incisions and allowing you to return to your normal daily activities immediately after treatment.

What is CoolSculpting Used to Treat?

CoolSculpting is used in the treatment of unwanted body fat when diet, exercise, and other weight loss methods have failed. CoolSculpting technology can be used throughout various areas of the body, mainly including the abdominal area, “love handles,” thighs, back, buttocks, arms, and under the chin. CoolSculpting therapy can also help reduce the appearance of loose or sagging skin after a chin fat reduction.

Benefits of CoolSculpting Treatment

If you are struggling to get rid of stubborn body fat, CoolSculpting therapy may be an effective treatment option after diet, exercise, and other weight loss methods have failed. Backed by numerous awards and positive media reviews, CoolSculpting offers many benefits, including:

  • Reduction of stubborn, unwanted body fat
  • Safe across various regions of the body
  • Comfortable and virtually pain-free
  • Noninvasive with zero recovery time

CoolSculpting Procedure

CoolSculpting therapy is a noninvasive procedure that takes place in the comfort of your doctor’s office. Each treatment session can be completed in as little as 35–60 minutes and involves a process known as Cryolipolysis(R) — the “freezing of fat,” usually between the temperatures of five degrees and negative five degrees Celsius.

CoolSculpting therapy begins with a one-on-one consultation with your doctor. Together, you and your doctor will discuss your personal weight loss goals, helping your doctor to develop a treatment plan that is uniquely customized to your needs. Once your doctor determines an appropriate treatment plan for you, you will return to the office to begin treatment. Treatment involves the use of a CoolSculpting applicator that is attached to a bedside machine. Depending on your treatment needs, the machine system applicator used by your doctor may vary.

How Effective is CoolSculpting?

Multiple studies have been performed to follow patients who have undergone CoolSculpting. These studies have shown that just one treatment can destroy about 25 percent of the targeted fat. CoolSculpting has been one of the most popular nonsurgical body contouring treatments in the past several years not only because it's comfortable and convenient but also because it's proven effective!

What is the difference between CoolSculpting and Liposuction?

Both liposuction and CoolSculpting remove unwanted fat from target areas on the body, such as the abdomen, thighs, or the chin. Both are meant to make the body look better. Neither is intended for weight loss. Liposuction can remove more unwanted fat in a single session than CoolSculpting. The procedure works by suctioning fat through a thin, hollow tube. A short recovery period is needed to allow soreness, swelling, and bruising to resolve. CoolSculpting does not require incisions. It works with the body’s natural ability to flush damaged cells. By freezing fat cells, CoolSculpting alerts the body that certain cells are no longer viable, so the body releases them. While a natural process, this takes longer than liposuction to achieve visible results. However, there is no downtime needed to recover from CoolSculpting.

CoolSculpting vs. Kybella®

If excess submental fat (sometimes called a “double chin”) is your cosmetic concern, both CoolSculpting and Kybella are excellent options. While CoolSculpting freezes fat to eliminate it, Kybella is an injectable that uses deoxycholic acid to break down fat cells. Each typically requires multiple treatments and provides lasting results if you stay near the weight you were at during your initial appointment.

If you’re sensitive to cold, you might prefer Kybella to CoolSculpting. However, CoolSculpting may be a better fit if you want to sculpt areas surrounding your submental fat as well as eliminate your double chin.

Who is an ideal candidate for CoolSculpting?

Adults who are interested in spot-reducing a certain area plagued by stubborn fat may be great candidates for CoolSculpting. This non-surgical treatment may be a nice alternative to liposuction for individuals who are near their ideal body weight and want to look more sculpted. If you’ve been wondering what CoolSculpting could do for you, contact our office and schedule your personal consultation with an experienced provider.

Who Should Not Get CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is safe and effective for most people. However, a few preexisting conditions prevent you from receiving this treatment. Our providers can suggest an alternative if you have the following:

  • Cryoglobulinemia
  • Cold agglutinin disease
  • Paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria

Additionally, you might consider postponing CoolSculpting if you plan on becoming pregnant in the future or are not near your preferred weight since significant weight gain or loss can impact your results.

Am I Too Old for CoolSculpting?

At Rendon Center for Dermatology & Aesthetic Medicine, we’ve delivered stunning CoolSculpting results for adults of many ages. However, our skin tends to lose some elasticity as we get older. If you’re already concerned about skin laxity, CoolSculpting can make it look more pronounced when fat cells in the area are eliminated.

However, if you’re in good overall health and don’t have any other contraindications, you might choose to do CoolSculpting followed by a skin rejuvenation treatment like Thermage®, which uses radiofrequency energy to stimulate collagen production and tighten your skin.

Will I Lose Weight with CoolSculpting?

It's easy to assume that you may weigh less after undergoing nonsurgical fat-reduction treatment. According to studies, the two are not linked. The benefit of CoolSculpting treatment is that your target area will have fewer fat cells. This can enable you to feel happier with your appearance. However, the removal of a certain amount of fat via CoolSculpting will not create a big change in your weight. You might not notice any change at all when you look at the scale. The biggest change is to your appearance and your confidence! coolsculpting

What Different Areas Can You Treat with CoolSculpting?

The CoolSculpting device has been expanded over time to include different-sized applicators. This allows us to treat large and small areas with ease! Common areas for CoolSculpting treatment include:

  • Abdomen
  • Love-handles/flanks
  • Inner and outer thighs
  • Banana roll fat under the buttocks at the upper back of the thigh
  • Back fat
  • Bra fat
  • Upper arms
  • Double-chin

Can CoolSculpting Be Done on the Face?

You can have CoolSculpting done on the submental area. This is the section of tissue between the chin and jawline and the upper neck. Fat can accumulate here, creating the appearance of heaviness around the face. This is called a double-chin, and it can develop even if you're at a healthy weight. Treating submental fullness is easy with CoolSculpting! No downtime, no precautions, just a more sculpted jawline.

What Should I Expect During A CoolSculpting Session?

To begin the procedure, your doctor will comfortably position your body based on your required area of treatment. Your doctor will then place a gel pad and the head of the CoolSculpting applicator onto the desired treatment area. The machine that the applicator head is attached to will be used by your doctor to set treatment temperature and other required settings. Your doctor may provide pillows for additional comfort, and a blanket will be placed over the treatment area to encourage the cooling effect. Once the session is complete, your doctor will gently remove the applicator along with the gel pad and wipe away any remaining residue.

How should I prepare for a CoolSculpting session?

Some ways to make CoolSculpting more effective and comfortable include:

  • Exercise regularly before your treatment begins. This will help your body shed more unwanted fat.
  • Drink plenty of water (at least 64 ounces) beginning before treatment. This will support fat flushing after CoolSculpting.
  • Avoid certain supplements, such as aspirin and fish oil, to decrease the risk of bruising.
  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning before getting CoolSculpting. A sunburn could make treatment more uncomfortable.

How many CoolSculpting treatments will I need?

Some people reach their desired outcome with just one CoolSculpting treatment. Others need a series of 2 to 3 treatments. Sessions are scheduled several weeks apart, allowing sufficient time to observe the degree of improvement achieved. If, after the recommended number of sessions, you’d like to continue reducing fat in a problem area, you may schedule additional treatments as needed.

How Long Should You Wait Between Treatments?

We may recommend two or more CoolSculpting sessions to achieve the best possible results. You may begin to notice subtle changes in the treatment area after just two weeks. However, it takes up to four weeks for your body to process and eliminate the fat cells destroyed during a session. For this reason, we may schedule subsequent visits about one month apart.

Is CoolSculpting Painful?

CoolSculpting is typically a pain-free procedure with minimum side effects. Some patients may experience pain, aching, bruising, swelling, and other signs of injury at the treatment site lasting anywhere from a few days to a week. Overall, you will be able to return to your normal activities immediately following your treatment session. coolsculpting

Should I Wear Compression after CoolSculpting?

It isn't necessary to wear compression after CoolSculpting sessions. This technique is far different than liposuction and other surgical body contouring procedures, which can cause excessive swelling and bruising. After CoolSculpting, the treatment area may be slightly sore or tender for a few days. Compression could keep you more comfortable until these side effects resolve. It may not, however, help you get better results.

Is Massage Necessary After CoolSculpting?

If you want to get even more out of CoolSculpting, post-treatment massage could amplify your results. A 2013 study found huge benefits. First, the study subjects were treated with CoolSculpting on the abdomen. Then, one side of the abdomen was massaged for two minutes following the treatment, while the other was left alone as a control. The results were astounding, with a 68% greater reduction in fat on the massaged side vs. the non-massaged side.

Further self-massage after CoolSculpting hasn’t been clinically evaluated, though you might benefit from additional lymphatic massages from a licensed massage therapist to support your body as it eliminates fat cells. A light-pressure professional massage could also help with post-treatment soreness.

How long after a CoolSculpting treatment can I shower?

You may shower or take a bath after getting CoolSculpting. Experts suggest using warm water, not hot or cold. If soreness or tenderness occurs after treatment, you may even add some Epsom salt to a warm bath to reduce inflammation and minor discomfort. You should avoid hot showers, steam rooms, and hot tub use for 24 hours after each session. The excessive heat could irritate the treated tissue.

How long after a CoolSculpting treatment can I work out again?

Except for avoiding excessive heat like hot tubs, there are no activity restrictions after CoolSculpting treatments. You can exercise as soon as you feel comfortable. Doing so may support your body’s metabolism of excess fat.

What Is CoolSculpting Recovery Like?

CoolSculpting recovery can vary depending on how many areas you’ve had treated and your body’s unique response. However, you can generally expect minimal downtime and mild side effects. Many patients continue with their normal activities immediately after their CoolSculpting appointment, while others prefer to take the rest of the day off to rest and relax.

You may feel sore and notice some swelling for a few days after your treatment. Wearing compression garments can minimize this. Some patients also feel slight nerve twinges in the treatment area about five days after CoolSculpting. This tingling or cramping sensation usually subsides quickly. You might also experience itchiness near the treated area since your body can have a histamine reaction to inflammation. Oral antihistamines can alleviate this side effect.

The best way to speed up your CoolSculpting recovery is to avoid any strenuous activity if you’re still feeling sore, drink plenty of water, and eat healthy foods to support your body as it eliminates fat cells.

What Are The Results After CoolSculpting?

Final treatment results may vary from patient to patient. The best before and after results are usually visible within two to three months; however, some patients may see results within a few weeks, while other patients may require additional treatment sessions for improved outcomes. Because fat cells in adults don’t usually grow back, CoolSculpting results are permanent, but adopting healthy habits may be recommended to help maintain achieved results.
