Dermatology Boca Raton - Todd R Coven, MD

Todd R. Coven, MD

Todd R. Coven, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist, as well as a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon. He practices at his Long Island, NY, office, as well as the Rendon Center of Boca Raton, FL. He is also an affiliate of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, NYC. Dr. Coven's practice focuses exclusively on Mohs surgery.

Dr. Coven attended Bucknell University, where he earned his undergraduate degree, then moved on to Philadelphia, PA, where he received his degree from Jefferson Medical College. He then went to Lenox Hill Hospital, where he served his internship. He completed a two year Dermatology Research Fellowship, which was sponsored by NIH, at the Rockefeller University, NYC. He remained in New York City, where he completed internship in dermatology with the New York Presbyterian Hospital – Cornell Medical Center. He received training in Mohs Micrographic Cancer Surgery through a fellowship sponsored by the American College of Mohs Surgery, and completed under Deborah Sarnoff, who is an affiliate of the New York University School of Medicine.

Chere Lucas Anthony, MD, FAAD

Dr. Chere R. Lucas Anthony is board certified in dermatology. She provides a variety of services, including cosmetic procedures, dermatologic surgery, pediatric and adult dermatology.

Dr. Lucas graduated from Dartmouth College where she studied Anthropology modified with Biology, earning her bachelor's degree. Dr. Lucas attended Duke University School of Medicine, where she earned her medical degree. Her internship in internal medicine was completed at the Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA. She then went on to Case Western University/University Hospitals of Cleveland, where she received specialized dermatological training.

While Dr. Lucas was attending Duke University, she was awarded a Stead Fellowship for her melanoma research, and related publications. During her time at Case Western University/University Hospitals of Cleveland, her research focused on protection from, and correction of, UV damages, publishing several papers regarding her work. She is a respected speaker locally and nationally, having given presentations on both topics. In her work at the Rendon Center for Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine, Dr. Lucas blends continuing clinical research and consummate patient care.

Patricia L. Rooney, DO, FACOS

Dr. Patricia L. Rooney, a board certified reconstructive and plastic surgeon, offers her exceptional skills to patients of the Rendon Center. She also maintains a private practice in Fort Lauderdale.

Dr. Rooney earned her degree in medicine from University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine, located in Kansas City, MO. She completed her internship with the Chicago Osteopathic Hospital, in Chicago. She served her residency in general surgery with the Osteopathic Hospital of Maine. She then moved to the Cleveland Clinic, Florida, where she completed a fellowship in reconstructive and plastic surgery. Dr. Rooney was invited to join the staff of the Cleveland Clinic, Florida, and she remained there for nine years before opening her own practice. In 1998, she was awarded Fellowship with the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons.

The cosmetic portion of Dr. Rooney's practice focuses on procedures such as dermal fillers, Botox/Dysport injections, earlobe repair, spider vein injections, liposuction, tummy tuck, breast lift, breast reduction, breast augmentation, upper and lower eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), brow lifts, and facelifts.

The reconstructive portion of Dr. Rooney's practice focuses on breast reduction, post-mastectomy breast reconstruction, Mohs micrographic surgery for skin cancer, and the surgical closure of wounds.

Currently, Dr. Rooney is serving at the Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery. She is also a staff physician at Kindred Hospital, Holy Cross Hospital, and Imperial Point Medical Center.

Dermatology Boca Raton - Dr. Larissa L. Zaulyanov-Scanlan, MD

Dr. Larissa L. Zaulyanov-Scanlan, MD

Dr. Larissa Zaulyanov-Scanlan is board certified in dermatology and dermatologic surgery. She currently practices in Boca Raton, at the Rendon Center, as well as Margate, Delray Beach, and Weston, Florida. Her specialty is cancer surgery for facial skin, including Mohs Micrographic Surgery. Her expertise also include sclerotherapy (varicose vein treatment), skin responses to hormones, laser surgery, healing and care of wounds, prevention of skin cancer, facial reconstruction, skin cancer surgery. She has written and co-authored books and book chapters on all of these subjects.

Dr. Zaulyanov-Scanlan is a graduate of the University of Florida in Gainesville, Cum Laude in Microbiology and Cell Science, with minors in Chemistry and Philosophy. She earned her degree in medicine from Tampa's University of South Florida, graduating in the top percentile of her class and earned the prestigious Award for Academic Excellence. Her internal medicine internship was also completed there.

Dr. Zaulyanov-Scanlan served her residency in Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery with the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. She was awarded an Excellence in Dermatologic Surgery Award. She also received recognition for extensive research of laser and estrogen treatment in relation to the development of collagen. She received a Preceptorship Award from the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, studying in Miami, FL, under Dr. Stephen Mandy, with a focus on cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Zaulyanov-Scanlan was the recipient of a Mentorship Grant for Laser Education and Research from the Dermatologic Society. She studied in Washington D.C., under Dr. Tina Alster.

An accomplished dermatologic surgeon, Dr. Zaulyanov-Scanlan enjoys all aspects of her practice. She provides services such as cosmetic enhancement, post-surgical reconstruction, and treatment of skin cancer, with the goal of providing top-quality individualized care. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, ceramics, and painting.
